I thought it would be nice to describe what a weekend is like using our RV in Anacortes, Washington.

First of all, we use our RV like a mobile vacation home. We park it in certain locations for months at a time. At the time, it is located in Anacortes. We just pack a few things after work and drive up to the RV which is setup and waiting for us. This beats letting your RV rot on the side of the house, not being used.

So here is a weekend with Rob and Sherry. First we load up some clothes, pets and cameras and start our one hour drive after work to Anacortes. We normally stop by the Casino first for a all you can eat Seafood buffet and to try our luck on the slots for an hour. Then we jump back in the truck and 5 minutes later we are at our RV at “Pioneer Trails RV Park”. It’s all setup and ready for us. We normally unload, make a drink and watch a little TV before bed.

The next morning we take the dog out, and cook up a wonderful breakfast. Sometimes we just hop in the truck and go out for breakfast in town which is only 6 minutes away. After that, its time to check out the Farmers market for some fresh fruit and veggies, as we start thinking about what kind of special dinner we want to make that Saturday.

Anacortes normally has something going on every weekend in the summer from Art festivals to Motorcycle shows, never a dull moment. Anacortes also has a beautiful marina and parks to visit, along with a few dog parks for our Chocolate Lab to run around in. Yes we also bring our Cat to the RV each weekend, but she stays in the RV. She thinks she owns it. There is also hundreds of things to do from visiting the San Juan Islands, to hiking around Washington Park. Sometimes it’s just nice to just relax at the RV site and visit with people in the park.

After a great homemade dinner to die for, it’s happy hour, I will leave that to your imagination, This is the time to decide what to do for the evening. Watch a movie, go for a walk, visit Downtown Anacortes, try your luck at the casino, or just chill out. There is no bad decision here to make.

The next morning, after sleeping in, if the dog lets us, is the big decision to make breakfast, or go to town, Most of the time we go to town, After eating this is a good time to visit the dog park, or take the dog swimming at the lake. After that, it time to figure out where to have lunch, which this Sunday called out for a pulled pork sandwich at “Dad’s” restaurant.

Then reality starts to hit us, we have to start thinking about going home to join the rat race again, “bummer”. That’s when it kills us to see everyone around us at the RV Park just living life, as we start loading the truck to go home for 5 days. Just 18 more months to go, then it’s our turn, hopefully.

The point to this article is: Use your RV now! Don’t let it set on the side of the house, or in storage. You do not have to be retired to make your RV investment pay off now, Go play!
